Marine Veteran, Entrepreneur, and Father of 3 Girls Seeks to Serve Country Once Again
Portola Valley, California— Democratic candidate for California’s 16th Congressional District Peter Dixon this morning announced that he raised $350,000 in the first 24 hours since launching his campaign yesterday. Dixon, a Marine veteran, entrepreneur, and father of three girls, is running to serve his country once again by fighting for working families and delivering solutions and resources for the biggest challenges facing residents – from healthcare to housing and immigration to education.
“I am humbled and grateful for the overwhelming messages of support and generous contributions to our campaign in just the first 24 hours,” said Dixon. “As we embark on this journey together, fueled by the spirit of public service and a dedication to solving our toughest challenges, I am energized by the collective enthusiasm that will propel our campaign forward. From fighting corruption and brutal dictators to harnessing the innovation of Silicon Valley to make government more efficient, I have a proven record of leadership and deep commitment to defending our democracy that is greatly needed in Congress today. I look forward to engaging with voters in every community across our district, listening to their concerns, and earning their trust and support.”
In a video announcing his campaign, Dixon highlights his career as a combat veteran, special advisor serving under Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, and successful Silicon Valley start-up founder working to make the U.S. military more efficient and effective. Dixon also notes that his motivation to run for Congress is rooted in his passion to serve his country and to ensure a better future for his daughters and all families of California’s 16th district.
